Jumpstart is a free after school program that we have open to all students enrolled at S.A.C. Prep. The program runs from 3 pm to 6 pm Monday through Friday at the school site. The first half of the program runs from 3 pm to 4:30 pm and consists of  homework help and tutoring. The second half of the program runs from 4:30 to 6 pm and consists of enrichment activities. For more information please contact the Jumpstart coordinator, Raquel Baccay at (916) 896-6220.

The focus for the early grade levels is to help students develop strong foundational computation skills.  As students continue to build their number sense, more conceptual problem-solving skills are developed. The goal is for all of our students to be proficient or advanced in high school algebra by the time they graduate 8th grade.

English Language Arts
Students spend at least 1.5 hour a day, 4 days a week, dedicated to English Language Arts. While the curriculum is standards-based, there is an additional emphasis on developing strong vocabulary skills, reading comprehension skills, and writing skills.

Students develop knowledge and proficiency in science through an understanding of the scientific method, the inquiry process, and the periodic table. Students observe demonstrations, conduct labs and take field trips to build a strong base for science.

Social Studies
Students develop an ability to identify cause and effect relationships in history, and ability to compare and contrast, and the ability to accurately identify historical events and historical figures in their appropriate time period.
