Bake Sales, Picture Day, and more!

Hello S.A.C. Prep Families,

Here is some S.A.C. Prep news. We hope everybody is doing well.

Can you say BAKE SALE???
On Friday, September 26, 2014 there will be an 8th grade bake sale. The bake sale will take place at 3:00pm in front of the school. We look forward to seeing you there.

Picture Day
Thursday, September 25, 2014 S.A.C. Prep will have picture day. Students MUST WEAR their uniforms for these pictures. We will be taking pictures for student ID’s and class pictures.

No School
Next week is intersession. There will be no school for the students. Students will return to school on October 6, 2014.

Parent Meetings
As mentioned during the Parent Meeting on Sept. 11, we would like suggestions for topics of discussion at the Parent Meetings. A suggestion form can be filled out in the office, or you can email your suggestions directly to Mr. Hernandez at nhernandez@sacprep.org. We look forward to hearing from you.

Monthly Newsletter
Starting next month. The weekly announcements will be reduced to a monthly newsletter. In the newsletter events of the month will be discussed, and school activities will be shared. Reminders of events (i.e. bake sale, picture day, etc.) will be sent via email & text throughout the month.

100% Day
Last week S.A.C. Prep had its first 100% day. A 100% day is a day in which 100% of the students attend school. Congratulations to everybody. After speaking with students and teachers, we have come to an agreement. If S.A.C. Prep has three 100% days in a week the entire school will earn a free dress Friday for the subsequent week.

Parent Fit Club
Mr. Hernandez will be starting a fitness club for parents. If you are interested in signing up you can sign up in the office or send Mr. Hernandez an email and let him know you are interested. At the fitness club you will get to know other parents and get fit at the same time. Students are welcome to join but must participate in the fitness club.

  • It will be on Thursdays at 6pm.
  • Each session will last no longer than an hour.
  • It will be free (although donations to the school will be welcomed)
  • It will be geared towards various skill levels
  • Recommended gear: yoga mat, jump rope, workout attire, & a positive attitude
  • It will be fun

Proud Parent t-shirts
If you wish to order a “Proud Parent” t-shirt please submit the order form with payment to your homeroom teacher, or submit the form to the office. All orders and payments are due by September 19, 2014. We will only purchase what is ordered.

REMINDERS…

Celebrating Birthdays
Prior to brining cupcakes, or treats, for your student’s birthday please notify your teacher prior to bringing the treats. In order to avoid distractions during the day the treats will be taken to the classroom at the end of the day. Thank you for your cooperation.

Early Dismissals
It is important for students to stay for the entire day at S.A.C. Prep. We understand that situations arise where an early dismissal is necessary, but we strongly encourage parents to avoid picking up students early from school. Every minute counts.

Picking up students from the classroom
Parents are being asked to wait in the office if they wish to pick their student for an early dismissal. We ask that you sign your student out and the office will call your student to the office for dismissal.

Visiting / Volunteering
If you wish to visit/volunteer during the day you must sign-in in the office and get a visitor’s/volunteer badge. Teachers have been instructed to direct parents to the office if they do not have a visitor/volunteer badge.

Waiting for students
Parents waiting for students to be dismissed at the end of the day are being asked not to wait in the hallways beginning next week. Parents are being asked to wait in front of the school or the back walkway, but please do not wait in the hallways until after dismissal.

The white rectangle on the back of new uniforms
Many parents and students have asked what the white rectangle is for on the back of the new uniforms. Simple, it is to write your student’s name. Last year many uniforms were lost, or placed in lost and found, because we couldn’t find whom it belonged to. So, we felt it would help parents keep track of their student’s uniforms. Hope this helps with the white rectangle mystery.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact the school.
