Hello S.A.C. Prep Parents,
We hope everybody is enjoying the summer break. Below is a list of information/items to be watching for over the summer.
First Day of School
This year the first day of school is August 11, 2014. The daily schedule remains the same with one exception. The drop-off time for students has changed. The earliest students can be dropped off at school is 7:15 a.m. Please make note of the drop-off time and plan accordingly. All instruction begins at 8:00 a.m. Students are considered tardy after 8:00 a.m. Also, attached to this email is copy of the calendar for the upcoming school year. If you are unable to print out the calendar copies will be available in the office at the beginning of the school year.
One change that will be occurring at S.A.C. Prep this year is the online Parent Portal. We are currently using mystudentsprogress.com (MSP). In order to keep up with changes in state reporting/accountability, S.A.C. Prep will be switching to Quickschools.com. For the most part all of the features you had on MSP will be available on Quickschools. You will still be able to login and check your student’s grades, attendance, and assignments. In order to access Quickschools you will need to have a working email on file with S.A.C. Prep. Prior to the beginning of the school year you will receive an email invite with your username and password. S.A.C. Prep Administration will notify parents who do not have a working email on file.
Web Site (www.sacprep.org)
Please look forward to the launch of our rebuilt web site on July 1, 2014. At new our web site you will be access current information about S.A.C. Prep. This will include, the school calendar, student handbook, teacher information, and more. We are working to integrate real-time news feeds in order to keep the families at S.A.C. Prep informed of events at the school. Also, at our new web site you will be able to like us on Facebook, and follow us on twitter. At the release of our new web site please explore it and give us any feedback to help us improve the site.
Unfortunately, we are still waiting for information regarding our funding for the afterschool program. In the event that funding for the free program is unavailable, Mr. Hernandez has been working with Jumpstart to have a plan in place to create an affordable program for all students who wish to attend. As soon information becomes available Mr. Hernandez will update you. Thank you for your patience.
If you placed an order for uniforms they will be ready for pick-up on August 4, 2014. You will be able to order more uniforms at that time as well.
Currently, the school is being cleaned and repaired for upcoming school year. Feel free to stop by and say hello or lend a hand if you have time. Also, continue to watch for emails or letters from the school. These emails and letters will provide you with information of any changes or events at the school.
As, always if you have any questions please feel free to contact the school. We hope you enjoy the rest of your summer, and we look forward to seeing you in August.
